Top Gun is a Naval Fighter Weapons School where the best of the best train to refine their elite flying skills.
Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell (Tom Cruise) who considers himself quite the man with his cocky attitude is sent to Top Gun Naval Fighter Weapons School but has problems fitting in with the other pilots due to his attitude and competitive nature.
Not only is Maverick trying to compete to be the top fighter pilot, he’s also fighting for the attention of his flight instructor, the beautiful Charlotte Blackwood (Kelly McGillis).
With plenty of incredible flying stunts, drama between pilots, love interests and 80’s power ballads, what more could one want in an 80’s movie!

Well now we’re in for a sequel, 35 years on!
Cruise will return as Pete “Maverick” Mitchel to train a new group of pilots for a special mission in the Top Gun Naval Fighter Weapons School. Judging by the trailer, be prepared for plenty of action throughout the movie with bigger, faster stunts and flight scenes and the theme tune from Lady Gaga, we’re in for quite a ride!

1. Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol: Climbing the Burj Khalifa
During this stunt, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) climbs one of the world’s tallest buildings to break in from the outside in order to avoid security.
The Mission Impossible production company couldn’t get insurance for Tom Cruise to climb the building himself so Tom took it upon himself to get his own insurance to do so. Once insured, Tom climbed 1700 feet up the building and then performed a fall, dropping 40 feet for the movie! Absolutely terrifying stuff!
2. Mission Impossible Rogue Nation: Hanging off a flying plane
During this stunt, Ethan Hawk (Tom Cruise) climbs onto the outside of a plane and waits for his pal to open the door. Unfortunately the door doesn’t open on time and Ethan is left hanging off the plane while it takes off.
Can you believe Tom Cruise literally hung from the plane as it took off! He repeated this stunt 8 times to get the perfect shot! What a pro!
3. Mission Impossible Fallout: The Halo Jump
Tom once again is the first actor to ever do a Halo jump in a movie. A halo jump is a high altitude low open jump from a plane. Not only did Tom jump from a plane at 25,000 feet, he had to do it at night and he also had to act during it, making sure he was close to the camera!
4. Top Gun Maverick: Low Flying
During this movie, Tom Cruise flies at dangerously low altitudes for some of the action shots. Tom is also the first ever actor to do a launch off and land on a carrier in a movie!
5. Mission Impossible Rogue Nation: Underwater Vault
During this movie, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) breaks into an underwater vault. Tom decided that not only was he doing this stunt, he’d learn how to hold his breath for the duration of the stunt.
He ended up being able to hold his breath for up to six minutes by the time he completed his training. Now that’s what we call dedication!
